Female, 50s, Menopause disorder

Main symptom

• Headache (combined tension-type and migraine)

Other symptoms

• Easy to wake up
• Palpitations
• Stiff shoulder
• Hot flash
• Burp
• Cold feet
• Swelling

Palpation and observations

• Meridian Pulse Diagnosis
  • Kidney deficiency, Spleen deficient, Liver excess
  • Pattern
    • Phlegm dampness(Migrain)
    • Liver Qi Depression(Tension-type)
  • Swelling of lymph nodes in the anterior neck
  • Lower abdominal stiffness

Treatment policy

• Arrange hormones through Ren Merian and Kidney meridian
• Relieves stress in the liver and adrenal glands.
• Improves the flow of the Yin liquid by the spleen meridian.
• Improve flow with acupuncture to the lymph in the neck

Follow-up

• First time: The migraine headache improved from the 3rd day after the treatment, but the occipital tension-type still feels heavy.
• Second time: Migraine recurrence
• 3rd time: No migraine headache for 3 weeks after acupuncture. Hot flashes are getting better.
• Fourth time: The headache has almost disappeared, but the heavy feeling still remains.
• Fifth time: Tension-type headache recurred due to fatigue from long-term care.
